چکیده
Seventeen specimens of carnivores the families Felidae (Puma concolor and Leopardus geoffroyi) Canidae (Lycalopex culpaeus) were collected in different localities Nahuel Huapi National Park (Argentina) from August 2005 to May 2018. The processed by necropsy, ascaridid parasites obtained only L. culpaeus. Morphological analysis indicates all belong Toxocara canis, specific identification was confirmed PCR procedure. This study represents first molecular T. canis Andean foxes Argentina, provides information on spatial distribution wild environments Patagonia.

Serodiagnosis of Human Toxocariasis Using Adult Antigens of Toxocara canis
Introduction Toxocara canis has a worldwide distribution and is regarded as the main cause of human toxocariasis (1, 2). Infection in humans, particularly children, is frequently caused by accidental ingestion of embryonated Toxocara eggs present in soil, water, food, dirty hands, and vegetables or by ingestion of larvae in under-cooked giblets (3). The disease can be asymptomatic or can lead t...

mopolitan roundworms that infect dogs, especially puppies, and cats. T. canis infection in humans occurs by ingestion of the embryonic eggs, which are shed in the feces of infected dogs. Toxocariasis is manifested in three different syndromes: visceral larva migrans (VLM), ocular larva migrans (OLM), and covert toxocariasis (1, 2). VLM is usually a disease of children 1 to 6 year old, and it ma...
متن کاملIdentification of candidate antigens from adult stages of Toxocara canis for the serodiagnosis of human toxocariasis.
In the present work, we identified adult Toxocara canis antigens through sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis for potential use in human toxocariasis immunodiagnosis. The sensitivity and specificity of several semi-purified antigens, as well as their cross-reactivity with other parasitic infections, were assessed by IgM and IgG-enzime linked immunosorbent assay. Whilst we f...
متن کاملMR in Toxocara canis myelopathy.
We present the case of a 23-year-old woman with cerebrospinal fluid eosinophilia and myelopathy caused by Toxocara canis and describe the clinical and thoracic MR findings. An enhancing thoracic spinal cord lesion which was shown on MR resolved after an interval of 140 days with partial resolution of the patient's symptoms.
متن کاملSerodiagnosis of Toxocariasis by ELISA Using Crude Antigen of Toxocara canis Larvae
Toxocariasis is a worldwide zoonosis caused by larvae of ascarid nematodes of dogs or cats, Toxocara canis or T. cati. Diagnosis of human toxocariasis currently relies on serology that uses T. canis excretory-secretory antigen to detect specific IgG antibodies by ELISA. We investigated the serodiagnostic efficacy of ELISA using crude antigen of T. canis larvae (TCLA). Serum specimens of 64 clin...
